Thought i was dead didn't ya??? Naw man not yet homey. Still warm the blood that courses through my veins.(guess what movie thats from and ill send you a prize in the mail) But ill tell you what is dead: Hip Hop.(or wuteva the fuck you wanna call it nowadays) The previous statement is the main reason for my mini vacation from this blog.(plus i do have a job ya know...lord knows skateboard p aint paying me for this shit) I mean honestly..what really is there to talk about? And even i'm getting tired of complaining. I dont wanna talk about jail or charges or court cases. And i definitely dont wanna talk about this wack ass music thats being put out. I'm really giving up hope. I dont care if Lupe is the next big thing out or how many albums Jay Z makes out of retirement. I really do believe IT IS OVER. I dont see any way out of this.

The heads of these record labels wont give most of the nikkas with skills a chance to shine(see Swayze n Slim) and most artists are more than willing to conform to whatever the labels want for a chance at stardom.(fucking monkeys) So what does that leave us with? Even if every MC took a stand and was on some i aint making bubblegum rap anymore, the labels would just overlook them and find the ones who are willing. No matter how many unite to make hip hop better, there will always be those couple ready to put on a clown outfit and dance around for the masta all day. So what do we do? Then, if we do get rid of the bullshit, how will the public react to it? Will they buy it? Some making the band girl group just outsold the G.G.O.A.T.(greatest group of all time for the slow) What does that say to you cause it speaks volumes to me. Its quite obvious that alotta bullshit sells before real shit. So then what? Its a sad state of affairs people. And I for one have no idea how to solve it. Do you?

Just remember this(Id hate to sound like the "old" guy but fuck it) Rap was OUR voice at one point. When the powers that be shitted on us, sometimes music was more influential than say a rally or a speech. It was a way of telling our story and shedding light on alot of the conditions that people wanted to hide. Rap was so powerful that congress had meetings about it. Now thats serious. Now all of that is gone and weve been reduced to snap music. Like a fellow blogger, I too am an 80's baby. The first two actual cds i purchased were Ready To Die and The Infamous(Thanks mom!!) I came up on Big, Jay, Pac, Dre, Snoop, WuTang, Outkast and Nas(among others) I really feel sorry for yall motherfuckers. Who yall comin up on? When I was a teen the nikkas I just mentioned dropped classic after classic. Literally. I mean back to back yall. Now we get maaaaaybe one per year. And people have the nerve to say hip hip is doing better than ever. Maybe financially, but the cluture and music are gone.

I pretty much hate rap now. I rarely play it and if i do its some older shit.(Was banging Soul Food earlier...what a CLASSIC) I used to rush home for rap city, now i dont even watch BET. I cant watch videos cause most are generic and they suck. Hell two of the nicest rappers (Andre n Cee lo) wont even rap anymore.(Andre rarely) What does that tell you? Its gotten boring and they dont wanna waste their time on it. Ghostface has admitted to not even listening to rap anymore. And to top it off, one of the best producers, timbaland, has stated that he doesnt wanna produce rap songs anymore because its not challenging enough. Hes doin songs with Timberlake and Preemo got more songs with Ms. Aguilera than Guru right now. Shit. If this doesnt signify the end i dont know what does. My opinion? Let hip hop die and lets birth something new. I know my black people are creative enough. Hell we invented every other genre of music. Whats one more? Im finna start a rock blog yall.(S.O.A.D.
